Replacement Hoods for the CAT 568LL

In January 2019 Evcor, LLC. released their new Hoods for “BRB” and “L68” CAT 568LLs. Evcor hoods are designed for quality and extra strength protection. Available in “BRUTE” and “LIGHT” models. The “BRUTE” uses 1/4” steel ribs and 11ga. skin. The “LIGHT” uses 3/16” steel ribs and 16ga. skin. Both models are available in semi-gloss black powder coat or raw steel. The Evcor hood replaces that broken fiberglass 3 pc. hood and the light weight stock 2 pc. Hood. Hinges, vent mesh and lifting eyes are all included. Latches, seal, gas struts and mounting hardware are available. Replace that old hood with an Evcor hood and forget about it!

What’s the story behind our hoods…
So we had a customer that wanted a “hood for his shovel”. I didn’t know what he meant at first. He meant he wanted a quality hood for his CAT 568 Log Loader. The stock hood is fiberglass and it doesn’t seem to last long in the logging industry. It comes with a sticker that says “Do Not Stand”. I have spent countless hours designing a high-quality hood that would fit these machines and be tough enough to last. The shop crew did a great job with the fabrication. We took several field trips to the job site to test fit. It needed to be right. We are not buying any “Do Not Stand” stickers. We tested it today with my Ram 3500. It’s okay to stand on it.
